Trip to see Dr Ference

April 22nd, 2008 we went to see Dr Ference at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. She is a part of the Low-Vision group working with Josh's school. She is so very helpful. She has taught us more in 15 minutes then we learned from U of M the two years we went there.

I think Josh was a little nervous. All he wants to know is if he is going to be able to drive. To this point all we have heard has been maybe. Because of his night blindness we know he won't be able to drive at night.

They did a lot of tests. They checked his field of vision, which was pretty good. They also checked to see if bifocals would help him read, they won't.

Ms Allgeyer was there too. She is his low-vision specialist working with him every other week. On Wednesday April 23rd, 08 she took him to Lansing to see Tom Sullivan. Awesome! Thank you Linda.

In the end. They determined that his eyes have not gotten any worse, he even showed some improvement in his field. They ordered a pair of glasses with polarized, transition, brown tint lenses. They also ordered a pair for nighttime to help him see a little more. They will be applying to the Michigan Commission for the Blind to pay for the whole thing!

Oh yeah, they also said he will be eligible for a daytime driver's license!!!!!!!!!

Well its been a while since my last post. I have been working on a studio with a new friend. As things would turn out, due to family difficulties and other reasons, we have parted ways. I wish Tammy and Erin the best of luck at Tres Jolie Photography.

Meanwhile, I will continue my photography business out of my house. Which by the way we moved. Our new Address is 629 Elm St. Wyandotte, MI 48192.

Overtime at work has dried up so our trip may be delayed or even postponed.

We will keep you updated.

Josh's eyes are still getting worse. He has begun getting help from school. He has startedd getting his text's on cd, special bold line paper and other help. They have been very helpfull in setting up things we had no idea were available to us. If you are not getting help, please check into getting it.
